  • Uganda’s turn to face the scrutiny of peers

    The implementation of the African Peer Review Mechanism will be happening in Uganda, as the country becomes the latest on the African continent to have acceded to the programme, which will see its credentials on rule of law, democratic governance, reforms and corporate governance scrutinised over the next three years.

  • Corruption is the Norm, Say South Africans

    The majority of people in South Africa (87%) think corruption has become a way of life in the country, 85% think there is corruption in senior levels of government, and 89% want the problem to be addressed, according to a poll by TNS Research Surveys.

    Kenya: Cabinet colleagues were ordered by the Prime Minister to look at the secretive sale of a luxury hotel to Libya at an argued knockdown price while protesters demanded the firing of the finance minister over the Grand Regency deal.
  • Tanesco now halts Dowans contract

    The Tanzanian government has announced finally that it will terminate a controversial contract, allegedly riddled with corruption, for supply of 100MW of emergency power by Dowans Tanzanian Limited.
